Aligning the Print Head Manually

Try aligning the print head manually after automatic print head alignment if printing results are not as expected, as when printed ruled lines are misaligned.

You need to prepare: two sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

  1. Check that printer is turned on.

  2. Load two sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in cassette.

  3. Select Maintenance on HOME screen.

  4. Select Print Head Alignment - Manual.

    The confirmation screen will appear.

    Note

    • To print and check the current head position alignment values, select Print the head alignment value.

  5. Select Yes.

  6. Press the OK button.

    The print head alignment pattern will be printed.

  7. When Did the patterns print correctly? appears, make sure pattern was printed correctly, and if so, select Yes.

  8. Select OK.

    The input screen for head position alignment values is displayed.

  9. Examine the first print head position adjustment pattern, select the number of a pattern in which stripes are least noticeable in column A, and press the OK button.

    • If all patterns look different, choose the pattern in which vertical stripes are least noticeable.

  10. Repeat these steps until you have finished entering pattern numbers for columns B to N.

  11. Check message and press the OK button.

    The second set of patterns is printed.

  12. Examine the second print head position adjustment pattern, select the number of a pattern in which stripes are least noticeable in column O, and press the OK button.

  13. Repeat these steps until you have finished entering pattern numbers for columns P to U.

  14. When completion message appears, select OK.
